
We have been facing a major supply issue of recent, largely due to a lack of raw materials. Over Spring/Summer we saw lower than forecasted milk supply from our local farms, this massively affected production. To worsen the situation, we then had our bulk cream supplier pull out. Our products don’t contain Thickeners or Gelatins, so we need cream to produce the thick, creamy products our customers love. This issue forced production to stop at both our Mundella & Margaret River Dairy Company factories.
Our owner and the team here have been working tirelessly to source milk and cream locally and build a plan for the future. Our parent company has invested heavily in a herd of dairy cows and expanding our dairy operations in WA. We have also signed up another local farmer starting this month. With the increased milk supply we will be able to produce our own cream and go back into full production.
Rest assured, neither Mundella Foods nor Margaret River Dairy Company are going anywhere. This is quite the bump in the road; however, we have a plan and are working to restore supply of Yoghurts and Cheese… and to continue to grow and diversify our Western Australian Dairy product range.
